UMCOR SAGER BROWN: Kit Supplies Are Low
UMCOR's relief supply warehouse, UMCOR Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, La., is requesting your help to provide bedding, sewing and layette kits that are urgently needed for Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Sager Brown's kit ministry has been on the decline over the last year. Even when there are no large natural disasters, kits are still needed.
Sager Brown is especially requesting donations to build about 33,000 layette kits, 64,000 sewing kits and approximately 1,000 bedding kits to meet upcoming needs for 2008. Donations for all kits are needed to prepare for uncertain times and future relief efforts. The Sager Brown Depot will accept complete kits as well as bulk items.

UMCOR is helping the Alabama West-Florida Annual Conference recover from the latest round of winter tornadoes to sweep across the south. On Feb. 17 severe storms and a tornado damaged and destroyed several homes and businesses in Central Alabama City.
UMCOR remains in contact with regional church partners that have been affected by the recent series of southern storms to bring relief where it is needed most.
The Alabama storm knocked down several trees and power lines leaving nearly 10,000 homes without electricity. Please keep the southern states in your prayers and help bring relief by giving to Domestic Disaster Response, UMCOR Advance #901670.
Moe Aung, his wife Naw and their three children fled their home in Myanmar (Burma) to a refugee camp in Thailand where they stayed for five years. They fled due to the government's persecution of the Karen people - the Aungs' ethnicity. Today the family lives free from fear thanks to refugee sponsors from Christ Church United Methodist in Louisville, Ky.
