Hurricane Lorenzo forms off Mexico's Gulf coast

MEXICO CITY, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Hurricane Lorenzo formed off Mexico's Gulf coast on Thursday, packing 75 mph (120 kph) winds and seen making landfall near Tuxpan port in the early hours of Friday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Lorenzo, a moderate Category 1 hurricane, was forecast to strengthen before it hit land and bring dangerous waves and heavy rainfall to the already flooded state of Veracruz.
