| Description: | Would you like to do humanitarian field work?
International humanitarian aid experts are needed in helping with, together with local people, delivering food and water, building shelter and arranging psychosocial counselling for those affected. Administration and finance personnel is also needed for ensuring that the aid is delivered efficiently.
FinnChurchAid is looking for professionals for its international humanitarian Emergency Prepareness Group. We are looking for persons who can, even on short notice and when needed, join our emergency assistance and reconstruction programs in crisis areas around the world.
As a FinnChurchAid field worker we expect you to have extensive professional and language skills and that you are able to work under stressful and difficult circumstances. We are also appreciating if you can coordinate your work efficiently. Our field personnel work as part of the Nordic Rapid Response Team, together with our sister agencies and church-based emergency response personnel in developing countries.
The chosen applicants will receive training. Once you have completed the training, you will be accepted into the FinnChurchAid Emergency prepareness roster.
Deployment can in principle be anytime and anywhere. The length of the deployment can vary from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the assignment. In the near future we are especially looking for the following experts for needs assessment and rapid response - assignments: Emergency and reconstruction experts- emergency prepareness-, emergency aid and reconstruction and how to assess needs and plan projects Financial management experts - budgeting, accounting, reporting, financial management systems Shelter experts - building temporary shelter and how to organise the shelters Other relevant expertise The assignments will be with a temporary contract and renumeration is on a case-to-case basis.
