Position: Reporting & AME officer Contract duration: 6 months, renewable Location: Kut, Irak Starting Date Immédiatly I. Country Profile Capital Office : Bagdad National Staff : 94 (may 2009) International Staff : 8 (may 2009) Areas : 2 (Erbil, Kut) On-going programmes: 1 Bugdet : 7 M€ (2008) ACTED began work in Iraq in 2003. ACTED has one base in southern Iraq in Kut and in 2007 opened a base in Erbil to better respond to IDP needs in the Kurdistan region. ACTED originally focused on improving the health, water and sanitation conditions of vulnerable populations in southern Iraq, but the deteriorating security situation and drastic increase in the number of displaced people have resulted in a new focus on meeting IDP and host community needs, based on the experience in IDP camps in Lebanon. Today, the ACTED Iraq team includes around 100 people who implement multi-sector emergency relief projects including WATSAN activities, gender based violence awareness, health promotion, economic rehabilitation, food security, and distribution of basic relief commodities. III. Position Profile The candidate will have to work both on AMEU (Appraisal, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit) and reporting, his main taks will be as followed: 1) AME Develop and manage the M&E strategy for the projects: - improving program quality, - monitoring performance - facilitating the transmission of best practices Contribute to building ACTED overall M&E capacity: - enhancing the overall use of clear program logic, sound data collection and analysis methods - facilitating assessments that are integrally linked to program design. 2) Reporting - Collect and synthesize data from the field, and draft reports in cooperation with project management, finance, monitoring and evaluation, and other field coordination departments - Assist the Reporting Manager in developing project proposals, addressing ad hoc donor requests or catalysing action on specific projects or components of projects - Liaise with external partners and represent ACTED in coordination and information meetings with NGOs, donors, and other humanitarian actors. IV. Qualifications: • Postgraduate diploma in Journalism, International Relations or a relevant field • Previous related work experience, preferably in the humanitarian field w/knowledge of donor relations • Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English (French in a francophone post/Spanish in a Central American post) • Excellent writing and communication skills • Ability to work efficiently under pressure V. Conditions: - Salary defined by the ACTED salary grid; educational level, expertise, hardship, security, and performance are considered for pay bonus ( between1600€ to 1700€ net/month) - Additional monthly living allowance - Free food and lodging provided at the organisation’s guesthouse/or housing allowance (depending on contract length and country of assignment) - Transportation costs covered, including additional return ticket + luggage allowance - Provision of medical, life, and repatriation insurance + retirement package VI.
